Betsy has been providing college advice at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School for over 8 years. She helps students gain a sense of control over what can be an overwhelming process. Betsy assists students as they identify their goals and build college lists, create resumes that showcase their achievements, obtain letters of recommendation, craft college essays and prepare for interviews. She is passionate about helping students find a good fit for college.

Lisa has been an educator for the last 24 years in the Dallas, Texas area. During these years she has taught everything from 7th grade math to AP Calculus as well as training individuals to become certified math teachers, writing curriculum, and teaching personal fitness. She is currently teaching mathematics and assisting with crew at The Episcopal School of Dallas. Seeing and hearing her students passionately discuss mathematical concepts during each class is extremely rewarding. Lisa is also an advocate for students concerning play and healthy living. Lisa is excited to bring her love of mathematics (and the outdoors) to the (HS)2 scholars this summer.

Leonard (Alex) Henderson

Alex grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley and graduated from CRMS in 2012. He moved to the Pacific Northwest for college where he worked in sustainable construction and architectural salvage after graduating in 2016. In 2018 Alex returned to Colorado to work for (HS)2 before beginning his graduate studies in environmental sociology in Northern California. His research generally focuses on the socio-political dimensions of natural resource management, and his MA thesis explores the processes of symbolic valuation within outdoor recreation. This fall he will begin his Doctoral studies with Utah State University's Department of Sociology with a concentration in Environment and Community. This will be Alex's 3rd summer with (HS)2, where his past roles have included RA/TA and Team Sports Co-Leader. He is incredibly excited to continue to work with the (HS)2 scholars who regularly outshine the college students he teaches throughout the rest of the year.

Annie grew up in the northeast and attended Dartmouth College where she studied history and education policy. Since graduating, Annie has taught middle school in public, charter, and independent school settings, both in California and the Roaring Fork Valley. Annie came to (HS)2 as an RA/TA in 2016 and fell in love with the work of the program. She spent three summers as an RA/TA, one summer as the assistant director, and looks forward to returning for her 5th summer as program director. Annie spends her free time running, hiking, skiing, and climbing with friends. She also enjoys reading, knitting, and spending time with her family and especially her baby nephews.

Lynn is a full-time faculty at CRMS and started teaching Photography in 1997. She now teaches Photography and Silversmithing. Lynn has been teaching and working with the HS2 program for 12 years. She has taught Photography, Silversmithing and helped out administratively when needed. Lynn is looking forward to another great summer with the HS2 programs and students.

BJ has worked as a climbing guide for over 15 years, at climbing areas across the United States. He has a passion for sharing the adventure, problem solving and beauty that climbing offers, and has brought this to the (HS)2 program for the past four years. He looks forward to seeing both old and new faces as they come to embrace the new challenges this summer will provide.

He enjoys teaching music very much and was drawn to the (HS)2 program because of the enthusiastic and positive comments from (HS)2 faculty about the wonderful experience they had while teaching (HS)2 students. George has enjoyed working with (HS)2 students for the past four years, and looks forward to their return this coming summer!

Tracy loves nothing more than to be in the classroom sharing her passion of writing with her students. She is a social justice advocate and has been teaching in the English and History departments at CRMS for the past nine years. In addition to the classroom, Tracy has been teaching rock climbing in an institutionalized setting since 2000. Since then she has continued to improve her knowledge and technical skills. Tracy loves spending the summers with (HS)2 students and avidly leads them on the Mount Sopris climb.
