*This is a typical day for a 9th-grade boarding student.
Rise and Shine! Head out the door - meet up with friends in the Bar Fork to get some breakfast before school starts. Grab your laptop and head to class. Time to take on the day!
8:15 – 9:10 am | Español
¡Hola, chicas! What’s first today? Spanish
9:15 – 10:10 am | Art Survey
Explore your creative side! Paint, design, throw, and act as you dabble in our art courses through our Art Survey class.
10:15 – 10:40 am | Household Jobs (HHJ)
Grab a broom! Students embrace the mission of taking responsibility and caring for our campus spaces. HHJ is an opportunity for each student to participate in the daily upkeep and functions of campus.
10:45 – 11:50 am | World Geography
Map out the world. Expand your boundaries. Learn about other regions and cultures. Examine world problems, conflicts and the unequal distribution of wealth and power.
11:55 – 12:35 am | Lunch!
What’s for lunch? Swing by Bar Fork for hot entrees, salads, soup, and sandwiches.
Chat with friends while you fuel up for the rest of the day.
12:40 – 1:45 pm | English 9
Bring the fictional characters in the novel your class is reading to life! Put your thoughts and words down in a well-written essay.
1:50 – 2:55 pm | Geometry or Biology
Master the quadratic formula and solve equations in math or head to the indoor bee observation hive in the garden shed for biology class.
2:55 – 3:10 pm
Grab a snack and your gear before your active or service crew starts!
3:10 – 5:00 pm | Active and Service Crew
Gear up for your sports practice, head to the garden to pick some veggies for dinner or make your way to the arts complex to create glass or ceramic items to use around campus.
6:00 – 7:00 pm | It’s Dinner Time!
Head back to the Bar Fork for Dinner. Don’t forget to grab dessert before you head back to the dorms for study hall.
7:30 – 9:30 pm | Dorm meetings and study time!
Time to bond as a dorm through activities and finish homework! Meet up with teachers to get help on the English Essay or history project. Have a group project to work on – set a time to work in the dorms or the library study rooms.
9:30 – 10:30 | Dorm Jobs / Brush and Flush
Keeping the dorms tidy is everyone’s responsibility. Students take on various tasks to help keep their living areas clean then get ready for bed.
10:30 | Lights out!
Lights out ’til tomorrow, CRMS friends!
is held once a week – it’s a time to check in with your advisor and bond with your advisory group.
Thursdays: SLEEP IN! Classes don’t start until 9:00 a.m. Plus its All-School Meeting
- time for the community to gather for student performances, senior speeches and recognize outstanding students and faculty.
